The Process

In 2001, I fulfilled my passion of becoming a full time mural painter.  It has been the most wonderful creative journey...  All the murals I paint are commissioned. I paint for private homes, businesses, restaurants, and paint public murals. Some murals can be informative, educational, or personalized with homes, family members and pets. Other themes for murals are landscapes, wildlife animals, trompe l’oeil (fool the eye), or whimsical… The mural can be painted directly on the wall, or on a panel, or canvas which is then installed like wall paper. Painting on panels and canvas allows future removal to a new location if desired.

I really like the process of mural painting. I meet and work with a client and talk about their ideas for the mural. Then I take the ideas and make sketches into a composition that will work in that space and choose a complimenting color palette. The design is then finalized by client and the painting begins. The painting process begins by getting all the materials and supplies. I then enlarging the sketch and transfer it to the surface to be painted. I start by to paint by placing in the base colors, and then continue with detail and refining. When competed I finish by signing my name.
